JOB TYPE: Part-time with the potential to move to full-time

  • The Marketing and Communications Specialist is responsible for developing and executing strategies that elevate the visibility and reputation of Innovation Spokane. This individual will oversee all communication efforts, including content creation, social media, events promotion and planning, and public relations, to strengthen relationships with stakeholders and increase enrollment.


  • Marketing & Branding

    • Develop and implement comprehensive marketing plans to support enrollment goals, fundraising efforts, and community engagement.

    • Create and maintain compelling content for digital platforms, print materials, and advertisements that align with the school’s mission and values.

    • Oversee the school’s branding to ensure consistency across all channels.

    Communications

    • Manage the school's website, ensuring timely updates and user-friendly navigation.

    • Draft and distribute newsletters, press releases, and announcements to key audiences, including parents, staff, and community partners.

    • Respond to media inquiries and build relationships with local media outlets.

    Social Media & Digital Engagement

    • Develop a social media strategy to increase awareness and engagement.

    • Produce, schedule, and monitor social media content across platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, etc.

    • Analyze digital metrics and provide regular reports on the effectiveness of campaigns.

    Community & Stakeholder Engagement

    • Promote and support school events, including open houses/enrollment events, fundraisers, and student showcases.

    • Collaborate with school leadership to design campaigns that highlight the achievements of students, staff, and programs.

    • Build and maintain partnerships with local organizations, businesses, and supporters.

    Event Planning 

    • Assist with graduation planning and set up/take down 

    • Lead the Senior Wall completion prior to October 1 each year 

    • Lead the planning and communications around yearly events such as the GALA, Exhibitions, New Student Nights, Open Houses, etc. 

  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    • 2-4 years of experience in marketing, communications, or a similar role.

    • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills.

    • Proficiency in social media management and analytics tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Meta Business Suite).

    • Familiarity with website management platforms such as WordPress or Squarespace.

    • Basic graphic design skills using tools such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.

    • Knowledge of marketing in diverse and inclusive communities.

    • Knowledge of the public education system, charter school experience preferred. 

    Preferred

    • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.

    • Experience in the education or nonprofit sector.

JOB TYPE: Full-time Monday-Friday, 7:25am-3:10pm

  • Under the direction of the Building Principal, the Licensed Special Education Teacher develops and provides specialized instruction to meet the unique needs of students with disabilities; Evaluates and assesses student progress against instructional objectives; follows state mandated due process procedures and functions as IEP Manager to assigned students.

    • Provides research-based specialized instruction to address the instructional goals and objectives contained within each student’s IEP.  

    • Push into classrooms to support instruction based on an inclusion model. 

    • Assesses student progress and determines the need for additional reinforcement or adjustments to instructional techniques.  

    • Employs various teaching techniques, methods and principles of learning to enable students to meet their IEP goals.  

    • Develops and implements annual Individualized Educational Program (IEP) plans for students to include: present levels of educational performance, special education needs, instructional goals and objectives, and the special education and related services required to meet those goals.  

    • Schedules team meetings and works cooperatively with team members and others in developing instructional goals and strategies.  

    • Coordinates the delivery of special education services in each student's IEP.  

    • Creates a positive learning experience with emphasis in individualized instruction using appropriate resources.   

    • Serves as primary contact for the parent as case manager. 

    • Collaborates with school psychologist on special education evaluations and reevaluations.  

    • Complies with School Board policies and all state/federal rules and regulations.

    • Completes all district and state reporting requirements, progress reporting semesterly.

  • The Instructional Assistant role plays a pivotal role in providing evidence-based student support in the area(s) identified during the evaluation and annual review of a student's IEP. The position is highly specialized in that ongoing training is required within an MTSS model, student goals are revisited often, and monitoring of student growth is expected. Multiple adults are involved daily in some instances, which requires flexibility and communication.

  •  Develop positive, professional relationships with students which build trust and confidence.

    • Provide secondary instructional support in the classroom under the supervision of the teacher.

    • Work with all students, individually or in small/large groups, to reinforce learning of material or skill initially introduced by the teacher.

    • Assist the teacher in devising special strategies for reinforcing material or skills based on a sympathetic understanding of individual students, their needs, interests, and abilities.

    • Assist with the classroom set-up and prepare materials for specialized instructional activities.

    • Observes and utilizes techniques and strategies used by special education teacher(s) and therapist(s).

    • Operate and care for equipment used in the classroom for instructional purposes.

    MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Implement, manage, and in some cases, deliver school health services. The school nurse reports to the Principal who partners with the nurse in overseeing school health services.

    • Provide mandated annual staff health training for the purpose of meeting health and safety needs of children and ensuring compliance with established regulation and program standards.

    • Assess and plan for the health care needs of students with acute and chronic health conditions, write care plans in collaboration with school staff, parents/guardians, Health Care Providers (HCP), and appropriate school staff

    • Provide consultant services to school personnel regarding health issues, e.g., communicable disease control (including Covid-19), Immunization compliance for the purpose of meeting legal requirements and school health and safety .

    • Asses the physical and emotional health of students as related to the educational process and within the scope of school nurse practice; initiate referrals for further diagnosis & treatment of identified health needs and provides follow-up; communicate health concerns that may impact learning to appropriate staff with parent and/or student consent

    • Delegate and supervise health procedures and medication administration to unlicensed assistive personnel staff and ensure compliance with established regulation and program standards.

    • Coordinate and implements health screenings mandated by law, including referral and follow-up for the purpose of supporting student academic achievement and well-being.

    • May provide health counseling and crisis intervention to students; serves as an advocate for the health rights of students and as a professional liaison between the school, family and health community for the purpose of supporting student social and emotional well-being.

    • Perform professional nursing tasks as indicated and assigned, including emergency services when on site.

    • Serve as a resource for health education to classroom teachers as time allows.

    • Cooperate with administrators and other staff to identify school safety and environmental health needs.

    • Participate in appropriate data collection as related to health care services.

    • Attend staff meetings and trainings as required by supervisor
